Ariana Grande’s Stunning New Look: Major Hair Transformation Unveiled
The singer and actress have taken a huge risk with her hair after several years of looking like “Glinda.” She posted behind-the-scenes images from her short film and music video for “Brighter Days,” released last week, on her Instagram on April 8. From the pictures, it seems she has auburn hair now. The red locks went back into a side-parted ponytail, with a curled piece falling down the front of her forehead, and the look was finished off with one of the costumes from the video. She captioned her posts simply, with a heart and infinity emoji.
Since 2023, Grande has been blonde due to filming. It recently turned warmer with a dark blonde tone that she called “the Audrey Hebburn look.” “We went for a warm, light auburn-brown base with chunky contoured highlights to create contrast,” Grande’s colorist, Rachel Bodt, had told. “I kept both the highlights and base colors warm so they played well with each other. Since it was a bolder look, I wanted it to feel like it went together.”
But Grandé’s latest look marks her first major transformation since becoming blonde a couple of years ago. Before her Glinda years, Grande usually had dark brunette hair, fading in and out with blonde highlights over the years. Although it had been a decade since she had gone for the red hue in 2012, she wore bright red for her role in Victorious.
On the Zach Sang Show, Grande later stated that she began to associate red hair with her character. “It’s kind of like the red was Cat, and that was very much a character, and that was very much a portion of my life that I love and I am so grateful for,” she said. “And I look at it and I love it, and I see red hair … and I think fondly of that, but again, it’s not me.”
